A Randomised Schema Mutator for Evolutionary

چکیده
In this paper we focus on randomised evolutionary optimisation. We introduce a general framework for the optimisation of data models, based on the concept of evolution. This evolution is guided by a randomised schema mutator. Although our approach is expressed in terms of database optimisation, our ideas are applicable to other elds of randomised evolutionary optimisation of computer models, especially when similar (graph structured) models are used.

Mutator Dynamics on a Smooth Evolutionary Landscape
We investigate a model of evolutionary dynamics on a smooth landscape which features a “mutator” allele whose effect is to increase the mutation rate. We show that the expected proportion of mutators far from equilibrium, when the fitness is steadily increasing in time, is governed solely by the transition rates into and out of the mutator state. This results is a much faster rate of fitness in...
متن کاملThe Evolution of Low Mutation Rates in Experimental Mutator Populations of Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Mutation is the source of both beneficial adaptive variation and deleterious genetic load, fueling the opposing selective forces than shape mutation rate evolution. This dichotomy is well illustrated by the evolution of the mutator phenotype, a genome-wide 10- to 100-fold increase in mutation rate. This phenotype has often been observed in clonally expanding populations exposed to novel or freq...
متن کاملEquations of Evolutionary Dynamics in High Dimensions
We study quasi-species and closely related evolutionary dynamics like the replicator-mutator equation in high dimensions. In particular, we show that under certain conditions the fitness of almost all quasi-species becomes independent of mutational probabilities and the initial frequency distributions of the sequences in high dimensional sequence spaces. This result is the consequence of the co...
متن کاملMutational Spectrum Drives the Rise of Mutator Bacteria
Understanding how mutator strains emerge in bacterial populations is relevant both to evolutionary theory and to reduce the threat they pose in clinical settings. The rise of mutator alleles is understood as a result of their hitchhiking with linked beneficial mutations, although the factors that govern this process remain unclear. A prominent but underappreciated fact is that each mutator alle...
متن کاملHopf Bifurcations and Limit Cycles in Evolutionary Network Dynamics
The replicator-mutator equations from evolutionary dynamics serve as a model for the evolution of language, behavioral dynamics in social networks, and decision-making dynamics in networked multi-agent systems. Analysis of the stable equilibria of these dynamics has been a focus in the literature, where symmetry in fitness functions is typically assumed. We explore asymmetry in fitness and show...
